Competitive Powerlifter Suspended for Dianabol by Police Department

An eight-year veteran police officer with the Clinton Township Police Department (Michigan) was charged with possession of anabolic steroids without a valid prescription. The illegal steroid was identified as methandrostenolone. The drug is more commonly referred to as Dianabol or D-bol. Patrolman Christopher Weaver was suspended from the police force during the course of a two-month internal affairs investigation into his alleged steroid use. [Read more…]

Immigration and Customs Employee May Go to Prison for Selling Steroids

A former detention officer at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids. Richard Eldridge was employed by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Office of Inspector General, under the direction of  Special Agent in Charge Gregory Null, conducted an extensive investigation into allegations that prison employees were moonlighting as steroid dealers. Annual Steroid Seizures Double Again in Australia

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service has made more seizures of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone (hGH) during the past financial year than any other year in the history of the agency. The Sunday Mail newspaper revealed that steroid seizures have increased over 500 percent over the past five years; the number of parcels containing steroids and hGH double in each of the past two years. Ringleader’s Wife Goes on Trial in “Operation Bulk-Up” Steroid Case

Jessica Howard will be the first defendant to go on trial from the “Operation Bulk-Up” anabolic steroid investigation in Warren County (Ohio). The investigation was spearheaded by the Warren County Drug Task Force. Thirty-two individuals were arrested as a result of the two-year undercover investigation that centered on steroid distribution at the Countryside YMCA in Lebanon. Steroid Addiction Led to Corruption Says Former Cop

A former detective with the West Chester Police Department failed to convince a judge that his corruption was the result of an addiction to anabolic steroids. David Busemeyer was sentenced to six months in jail for tipping of a drug dealer to the identity of an undercover informant. Who Goes to Prison for Selling Steroids?

Steroid laws prohibiting the use of anabolic steroids were passed largely in response to the widespread use of steroids in competitive sports. The anti-doping movement had hoped that prohibiting steroids would deter athletes from using these “illegal” drugs. The criminalization of anabolic steroids has had little impact on steroid use by athletes. The steroid laws have rarely been used to prosecute athletes involved with doping. Non-competitive athletes and recreational bodybuilders are the ones who have suffered the consequences of violating these laws. [Read more…]

Doctor Gets Probation After Wife Tells FBI About His Steroid Use

Dr. Mark Peter Koch was sentenced to five years probation for possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids and conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids. He was also sentenced to 200 hours of community service and a $10,000 fine.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) initiated its investigation of Koch after receiving a tip from his estranged wife claiming that he was involved with black market steroids. [Read more…]

Top Norwegian Fitness Site and Gym Linked to Steroid Bust

Two major figures in the Norwegian world of bodybuilding have been detained for allegedly selling anabolic steroids according to the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN). Sør-Trøndelag Police have alleged that popular local fitness experts Robert Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen were two of the men allegedly involved in selling steroids on the private internet website called “Anabolic Forum”. Two steroid sources known as “Guru” and “Karma” were accused of offering doping products to several thousand members of the forum. [Read more…]
