Feds Indict Owners of South Beach Rejuvenation and LA Health and Rejuvenation

The owner of a once-popular hormone replacement therapy clinic was arrested this week for the illegal distribution of anabolic steroids over the internet but this was the least of his worries. Jeffrey George started selling steroids through his South Beach Rejuvenation clinic in 2006 but it was his involvement in a chain of Florida pain clinics that has made him the focus of federal investigators. Broward Sheriff’s Deputies Still Using Steroids

Broward County Sheriff’s deputies are apparently still using steroids. Hollywood (Florida) police detectives arrested David Agosto, a nine-year veteran deputy, after he was observed buying anabolic steroids from a steroid dealer in the Hollywood IHOP restaurant parking lot late one night. Beware Grown Men Who Outgrow Their Clothes Especially If They Use Steroids

A man accused of murdering his ex-wife outgrew his clothes, presumably with the help of anabolic steroids, in the months preceding the murder according to Virginia State Police. Former Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Agee was driving his marked police vehicle when he confronted Jennifer Agee in a parking lot in Roanoke. Jonathan Agee then fatally shot her with an assault rifle from his police cruiser. Agee wounded  state police sergeant Matthew Brannock during a gunfight following a high-speed pursuit by state troopers. [Read more…]

Supplement Store Owner Arrested for Selling Prohormones in Operation Bitter Pill?

A supplement store owner in Staten Island may have been arrested for selling prohormones as part of Operation Bitter Pill suggests a report by Slive.com. Douglas “Big Doug” Birstler, the owner of “D’s Muscle Box”, was charged with the possesssion and sale of controlled substances. Birstler’s Facebook page listed the availability of several popular prohormones that have been the subject of criminal investigations by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). [Read more…]

Zyzz Death Leads to Steroids Discussion by Australian Newspapers

The death of an online bodybuilding celebrity has led to the discussion of anabolic steroids by Australian newspapers even in the absence of a causal relationship between the two. Aziz “Zyzz” Shavershian recently died at the age of 22-years old. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade concluded that Zyzz died from cardiac arrest resulting from an undiagnosed congenital heart defect in Thailand. [Read more…]

Alabama Doctor Indicted for Selling Anabolic Steroids from an Underground Lab

Alabama doctor Mark Peter Koch, D.O. pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids and conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids. Koch was indicted on federal charges along with three other men. Koch appears to be the connection between the three men. He apparently bought the steroids from one co-defendant and shared them with the other two co-defendants. [Read more…]

Buffalo Prison Guard Pleads Guilty to Selling Steroids

A prison guard at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia pleaded guilty to one count of “distribution and possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids” on August 8, 2011. Richard Lazzaro was a federal contract employee working as a detention officer in the Buffalo prison when he was busted selling steroids.

Former NBA Basketball Player Busted with Eight Bottles of Steroids

Former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Samaki Walker was found in possession of eight vials of injectable anabolic steroids when police officers pulled him over during a traffic stop in Kingman, Arizona. French Steroid Source Pleads Guilty to Selling Steroids in the United States

A French-Moroccan bodybuilder who operated an internet steroid distribution ring in the United States while living in France has pleaded guilty to illegally importing and distributing anabolic steroids. Karim Mourahib was responsible for soliciting orders over the internet from France and ordering bulk quantities of anabolic steroids from China. He directed his Chinese supplier to ship the steroids to his partner in Tennessee who handled product fulfillment. Mourahib’s role in the operation focused primarily on internet sales. [Read more…]

Canadian Football Player Suggests Media Misrepresented Facts in Steroid Case

Jordan Matechuk publicly apologized to the Canadian Football League, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats franchise and his friends and family a few days after pleading guilty to the possession of anabolic steroids and marijuana.  Matechuk was arrested after customs officials busted him  in possession of 543 steroid tablets and 263 milliliters of injectable steroids. His attorney advised him to avoid answering questions while his legal case was still pending. Matechuk, hoping to rehabilitate his image, nonetheless decided to answer a few questions in an interview with the Associated Press. [Read more…]
