Sheriff Accused of Ignoring Steroid Use by Deputy Charged with Murder

The estate of Jennifer Louise Agee has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her ex-husband Jonathan Agee in Roanoke Circuit Court. Jonathan Agee was a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy up until the Memorial Day incident that took the life of Jennifer Agee. The sheriff’s deputy confronted Jennifer Agee, took an assault rifle from his Franklin County police cruiser and fired five shots at close range in a Roanoke parking lot as her daughter watched last Memorial Day. Jennifer Agee was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly thereafter.

Police have previously pointed the finger at anabolic steroids as the culprit in the murder. Investigators found two vials of steroids, including one vial of testosterone cypionate, at Agee’s home and noted that Agee had “gotten much bigger” in the weeks leading up to the violence. [Read more…]

Cop Who Used Text Messaging to Buy Steroids Pleads Guilty

A Philadelphia Police officer who used text messaging to order illegal steroids has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids and two counts of possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids. Joseph McIntyre used his cell phone to order anabolic steroids from a friend at the Philadelphia Police Department who happened to moonlight as a steroid dealer. [Read more…]

Broward Sheriff’s Deputies Still Using Steroids

Broward County Sheriff’s deputies are apparently still using steroids. Hollywood (Florida) police detectives arrested David Agosto, a nine-year veteran deputy, after he was observed buying anabolic steroids from a steroid dealer in the Hollywood IHOP restaurant parking lot late one night. Beware Grown Men Who Outgrow Their Clothes Especially If They Use Steroids

A man accused of murdering his ex-wife outgrew his clothes, presumably with the help of anabolic steroids, in the months preceding the murder according to Virginia State Police. Former Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Agee was driving his marked police vehicle when he confronted Jennifer Agee in a parking lot in Roanoke. Jonathan Agee then fatally shot her with an assault rifle from his police cruiser. Agee wounded  state police sergeant Matthew Brannock during a gunfight following a high-speed pursuit by state troopers. [Read more…]

New Jersey Attorney General Proposes Guidelines to Eliminate Steroid Use Among Cops

New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow announced a series of reforms intended to eliminate the abuse of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone by New Jersey law enforcement personnel. The recommendations come as a response to a sensationalistic Newark Star-Ledger investigative expose that revealed the names of several police officers on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) after reviewing the private prescription records from the medical practice of Joseph Colao. The newspapers alleged that the late Colao falsified diagnoses and wrote bogus prescriptions for anabolic steroids such as testosterone. UK Police Officer Faces Trial on Steroid Charges After Found Not Guilty of Rape

Suspended West Yorkshire Police Officer Mark Carter pleaded not guilty to a charge related to the possession of anabolic steroids. Police discovered 277 tablets of the steroid stanozolol when they arrested Carter on suspicion of raping a man and sexually assaulting three other men at the Etap Hotel in Leeds on December 19, 2009. South Carolina Official: Steroids Turn People Into Murderous Magilla Gorilla Gone Coo-Coo

Oconee County (South Carolina) may soon be the latest jurisdiction to test its employees for anabolic steroids. County Administrator Scott Moulder announced that the Oconee County Council is investigating the possibility of adding anabolic steroids to the list of narcotic drugs for which county employees are currently screened.

The chairman of the public safety committee urged the county to adopt steroid testing in response to the increasing problem of steroid use by cops across the country. Chairman Wayne McCall argued that anabolic steroids turn normal people into “Magilla Gorilla” and could cause them to go “coo-coo and kill somebody”. [Read more…]

Federal Prosecutors Go Easy on Texas State Trooper Who Sold Steroids

Early this year, former Department of Public Safety Trooper Jeffery Jerman faced over a decade in jail after he was busted selling anabolic steroids to other members of law enforcement. He was indicted on federal charges involving one count of conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids. In separate cases, he faced three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance under Texas law as well as a steroid possession charge in Kendall County. Norfolk Police Officer Arrested for Manufacturing and Selling Steroids

The use of anabolic steroids by cops has been a prominent topic in the national news lately. Recent criminal and internal affairs investigations have examined the use of steroids by law enforcement in various States including New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Michigan, TexasCalifornia and Oregon. However, some criminal cases have exposed a greater deal of corruption in which cops are actually manufacturing and/or distributing anabolic steroids.

Drug Counselor Thinks Police Officers Pumped Up On Steroids and Out of Control

An activist and drug counselor wrote a letter to the California Attorney General Kamala Harris suggesting that Stanislaus County law enforcement officers might be “pumped up on steroids and out of control” on the streets shooting people. County substance abuse counselor John Mataka expressed concern that recent shootings by police, including one currently being investigated as a murder/manslaughter case, may have been done under the influence of anabolic steroids.
