Heavyweight boxer Larry ‘War Machine’ Olubamiwo used a variety of anabolic steroids, human growth hormone (hGH), insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) and other performance-enhancing drugs over a period of six years as a steroid-tested athlete. He was finally caught by the anti-doping police after a boxing match with Sam Sexton on January 13, 2012. Anti-doping testers didn’t catch him for using steroids. Welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz recently claimed that he knew all along that Andre “The Beast” Berto was a user of anabolic steroids. Berto first accused Ortiz of using steroids after Ortiz unanimously defeated Berto in Ring Magazine’s 2011 “Fight of the Year” on April 16, 2011. Boxer Andre “The Beast” Berto tested positive for metabolites of the anabolic steroid nandrolone in an anti-doping test administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA). The former WBC welterweight champion was scheduled to meet Victor Ortiz in a rematch to regain the welterweight title on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles.
