Dwain Chambers Goes to Olympics Much to British Olympic Association’s Dismay

Sprinter Dwain Chambers, who served a two year suspension after testing positive for anabolic steroids in 2003, has been named to the Team GB as a representative of Great Britain in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London next month. Brazilian Olympic Swimmer Busted Using Anabolic Steroids

The Confederação Brasileira de Desportos Aquáticos (CBDA), the federation that oversees the sport of swimming in Brazil, suspended an Olympic swimmer after an anti-doping urinalysis revealed evidence of anabolic steroid use. Glauber Silva tested “positive” for testosterone after failing the testosterone-epitestosterone (T:E) ratio test. Australian Olympic Committee Demonizes Stilnox.. and Caffeine

The Australian Olympic Committee apparently wants caffeine to be added to the list of anabolic steroids, human growth hormone and other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Tour de France Becomes More Dangerous as Doping Decreases

Judge Releases Names of Jurors in Roger Clemens Steroid Trial

United States District Judge Reggie Walton released the names of all eight women and four men (along with four alternates) who served on the Roger Clemens jury. The names were provided in response to a Washington Post application filed shortly after the jury acquitted the former Major League Baseball player of all six counts of obstruction of Congress, false statements and perjury. The Ukrainians Oleksandr “Musclebear” Skochyk and Yvgeniy “Eugene” Suray have each been sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in United States federal prison. They previously pleaded guilty to charges related to the distribution of anabolic steroids to residents of the United States. “Musclebear” was an international steroid source based in the Ukraine. His organization shipped steroids to both individual customers and domestic remailers located in the U.S. The court outcome represents one of the limited successes in the federal government’s internationalization of its “war on steroids”.
