Spain Operación Dama Shuts Down International Doping Ring
The Spanish National Police have announced the bust of ““the largest international organization operating in Spain” responsible for trafficking anabolic steroids, growth hormone and doping substances in Europe in an investigation codenamed Operación Dama (or Operation Lady in English). The codename alludes to the famous pre-Roman Iberian sculpture named the Lady of Elche.
The international doping ring was reportedly led by British expatriates residing in the Spanish beach communities of Denia and Marbella. The arrests of the British expats preceded several additional arrests around the country including the manager of a masters cycling team as well as six individuals in Elche, Spain. Golf Forced to Seek Credibility of Anti-Doping World
The PGA Tour, the organization that runs the men’s professional golf tournaments in North America, is being forced to adopt the anti-doping protocols of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in advance of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem told the New York Daily News that they are already performing several anti-doping tests that are pointless when it comes to professional golf performance. After all, only one professional golfer in the history of the PGA Tour has been banned for a doping violation.
Nonetheless, Finchem acknowledges that the PGA Tour is being forced to implement WADA-type testing just so that the PGA Tour anti-doping program has the “credibility” of the anti-doping world. [Read more…]

College Football Players in Canada Use Anabolic Steroids
Two college football players at the University of Laval were suspended after testing positive for anabolic steroids adding to the list of football players that have recently been suspended from Canadian universities. Linebacker Michaël Abraham and offensive lineman Steeve Vachon were suspended for two years for doping violations.

Manny Pacquiao has repeatedly been accused of using anabolic steroids by his opponents and his many detractors. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his good friend rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson have taken to Twitter to accuse Pacquiao of steroid use.
“50 Cent” had accused boxer Manny Pacquiao of using anabolic steroids in a series of messages posted on Twitter in March while hanging out with Floyd Mayweather to promote his new film, “Things Fall Apart”, at the Miami Film Festival.

Drug Counselor Thinks Police Officers Pumped Up On Steroids and Out of Control
An activist and drug counselor wrote a letter to the California Attorney General Kamala Harris suggesting that Stanislaus County law enforcement officers might be “pumped up on steroids and out of control” on the streets shooting people. County substance abuse counselor John Mataka expressed concern that recent shootings by police, including one currently being investigated as a murder/manslaughter case, may have been done under the influence of anabolic steroids. Operation Raw Deal Still Sending Steroid Dealers to Prison
Operation Raw Deal, the 2007 steroid bust billed by the DEA as “the largest steroid enforcement action in United States history”, is still sending individuals to prison for steroid-related crimes. Warren Abramson was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty in January 2011 to five charges related to the distribution of anabolic steroids and the possession of unregistered firearm silencers.
Abramson was the owner and operator of the underground lab (UGL) named “LuxTech” which was busted back in 2007. For unknown reasons, a grand jury didn’t indict Abramson until June 2010.
