The owner and operator of an underground lab (UGL) that produced anabolic steroids under the label “True Health Labs” has been arrested. A 22-year old man was charged with manufacturing, selling, trafficking, producing and exporting anabolic steroids. True Health Labs was a Canadian UGL that had only been operating for a few months. They launched their website UGLExchange.com in March 2012 with a wide selection of anabolic steroids and ancillary products and promoted them on several source forums.
They sold various steroids such as Anadrol, Anavar, Equipoise, Dianabol, Deca Durabolin, Masteron, Sustanon, Trenbolone and Winstrol. They also featured a high-dose testosterone product called “Test Cypenth500” that included 250mg Testosterone Cypionate and 250mg Testosterone Enanthate per milliliter. Ancillary products such as Nolvadex, Clomid and Cialis rounded out their product line up.
Police apparently ignored the warning on their website asking “Are you a law enforcement employee or do you work for any government agency?” The website notified police that they were not permitted to visit the website.
The Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (HOPP) had received a tip that individual(s) were selling anabolic steroids in the Township of Muskoka Lakes. The small town, located north of Toronto, has a year-round population of less than 7,000 people but is a popular tourist destination in the summer. The Huntsville OPP and the OPP Central Region Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant and seized steroid paraphernalia consistent with the operation of a UGL, several types of injectable and oral steroids, cocaine, marijuana and an illegal firearm.
The Huntsville OPP has asked all customers of True Health Labs to contact them. Of course, even though the possession of anabolic steroids for self-administration is legal in Canada, it is unlikely than any steroid users will contact police.
The owner of True Health Labs has not been publicly identified. A bail hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Bracebridge court.
