Steroid and Loan Sharking Charges Setback for National Level Bodybuilder

NPC bodybuilder Sean Harris was on top of the world last year after having a break-out year competing as an amateur bodybuilder. The bodybuilder won the heavyweight and overall titles at the 2010 NPC Atlantic States Bodybuilding Championships. He ended up placing 10th at the 2010 NPC USA Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championships coming up short of his goal of qualifying for an IFBB pro card.

Unfortunately, Harris has had less than a stellar year in 2011. The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office had charged him with “Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree” for the alleged possession of anabolic steroids in June 2011. He was charged this month with “Criminal Usury in the Second Degree” for allegedly loan sharking.

Harris position as a physical education teacher at the Intermediate School 141 in Astoria, Queens is in jeopardy as a result of the pending steroid and loan sharking charges.

Harris has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He faces up to four years imprisonment if convicted on the latter charges.

He has retained the services of Collins, McDonald & Gann (CMG) for his defense.  CMG is a lawfirm dedicated to helping clients in the bodybuilding, fitness  and the sports nutrition communities. CMG partner Marc Gann told Newsday that he would fight the charges vigorously in court on behalf of his client.
