Just as the steroid case against professional wrestler Jeff Hardy concluded, Moore County investigators have initiated a separate steroid case against his brother Matt Hardy. Moore County Sheriff’s deputies experienced a sense of deja vu when they returned to Boys Camp Road in Cameron this week and raided MATT Hardy’s home. They found 20 vials of anabolic steroids which allegedly belonged to Matt Hardy.
Matt Hardy was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver anabolic steroids, possession of Ecstasy, maintaining a drug dwelling and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two years ago, the Moore’s County Sheriff’s Office searched JEFF Hardy’s home on Boys Camp Road in Cameron (North Carolina) and confiscated 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, cocaine and various narcotic prescription pain killers.
Jeff Hardy negotiated a plea agreement with the Moore County Assistant District Attorney. The agreement was approved on September 8, 2011. Per the plea agreement, Hardy was sentenced to 10 days in jail, 30 months probation and a $100,000 fine.
Jeff and Matt Hardy had comprised the professional wrestling tag team known as “The Hardy Boyz”. The popular tag team worked together for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
While Jeff Hardy is currently free to resume his professional wrestling career, Matt Hardy’s personal and legal troubles are just beginning. Prior to his steroid arrest, Matt Hardy announced that he was checking himself into a WWE-sponsored drug rehabilitation program. His problems with alcohol became apparent after he was involved in two separate drunk driving incidents this year. The steroid charges only compounded his legal problems.
