A February 2010 winner of the Bodybuilding.com Teen Transformation of the Week has been arrested for the possession of anabolic steroids with the intent to distribute. Mark Ferrara has battled the extremes of being overweight and anorexia as a teenager but his most difficult battle may involve charges of steroid distribution. Ferrara was arrested after he unwittingly told undercover agents working with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office that he was in possession of a “certain quantity” of anabolic steroids as well as human growth hormone (hGH). Lawyers for Army Soldier Blame Steroids for Afghanistan Massacre
The attorneys for Robert Bales, an infantryman with the United States Army, have indicated they plan to blame anabolic steroids for contributing to the “Kandahar Massacre“. Bales has been charged with sixteen counts of murder after he killed 16 civilians, most of them children, in the Afghanistan villages of Balandi and Alkozai on March 11, 2012. The Army added two new charges involving “wrongfully possessing and using” anabolic steroids and one count of “wrongfully consuming alcohol while deployed” in a press statement released by the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. Expert Witness Doesn’t Think Steroids Contributed to Breivik’s Norway Massacre
Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik is an admitted mass murderer who is currently on trial at the Oslo District Courthouse in Norway. He killed 76 individuals when he bombed government buildings in Oslo and murdered teenagers attending the Workers’ Youth League summer camp on Utoya island on July 22, 2011. Breivik admitted using several cycles of anabolic steroids during training in preparation for his massacre. He wrote extensively about his use of steroids in a 1,500 page manifesto that was entitled “2083: A European Declaration of Independence”. Breivik’s use of steroids predictably led several journalists to blame the drugs for his deadly actions. An expert witness disagreed with these assertions during testimony this week. [Read more…]
Broward County Sheriff Deputy Avoids Jail After Busted with Winstrol
A Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) correctional deputy who was caught buying one hundred tablets of the anabolic steroid stanozolol has been sentenced to twelve months probation. Two British Men Given Suspended Prison Sentences for Stealing Steroid Alternatives
“Men stole anabolic steroids” reads the headline of a news story in the Plymouth Herald newspaper. The two men identified in the story didn’t really steal “anabolic steroids”. They stole a “steroid alternative” product marketed as a dietary supplement by Ultimate Sports Nutrition (USN). While the newspaper was certainly uninformed about the products involved in the crime, it is unclear if the prosecutors or judge knew that the stolen merchandise was a non-hormonal steroid replacement supplement. Mark Mansa Allegedly Sold Steroids to College Athlete and National Level Bodybuilder
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Vizcarrondo announced several months ago that the government had dropped all steroid charges against Mark Mansa as part of an agreement in which Mansa pleaded guilty one count of conspiracy to distribute one hundred kilograms or more of marijuana. Nevertheless, the Newstimes.com website has reported additional information regarding some of his steroid customers that was recently released in court documents. The government claimed that Mansa sold steroids to an unidentified college athlete. True Health Labs Underground Steroid Lab Busted
The owner and operator of an underground lab (UGL) that produced anabolic steroids under the label “True Health Labs” has been arrested. A 22-year old man was charged with manufacturing, selling, trafficking, producing and exporting anabolic steroids. True Health Labs was a Canadian UGL that had only been operating for a few months. They launched their website UGLExchange.com in March 2012 with a wide selection of anabolic steroids and ancillary products and promoted them on several source forums. [Read more…]
