Two Missourian bodybuilders were indicted for one felony count of conspiracy to possess and distribute human growth hormone (hGH) on November 9, 2011. The Office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri alleged that Gregory Loomans and Keith Ashabranner imported hGH and the anabolic steroids trenbolone and testosterone from China, used some of the product themselves and sold the rest to other bodybuilders. The Pattaya Police Crime Suppression Division arrested a British citizen for his involvement in an online website selling anabolic steroids and sexual enhancement drugs at Buy-Steroids-Direct-Asia.com. Neil Patterson-Hartley was arrested in Thailand on November 3, 2011 after a lengthy investigation into the website. Alabama Police Officers Suspended for Anabolic Steroid Testosterone
Four officers with the Scottsboro Police Department in Alabama were suspended without pay for their use of the anabolic steroid testosterone. The Scottsboro police chief and mayor initially refused to identify the officers or disclose the reasons for their suspensions citing it was an internal matter. Steroid Conviction Gets Four Year Suspension for British Shot-Putter
British shot-putter Carl Fletcher was suspended from competition for four years by the United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD) after being convicted of trafficking anabolic steroids. Fletcher pleaded guilty to supplying 16 different types of performance-enhancing drugs including human growth hormone (hGH) and the anabolic steroids testosterone and Trenbolone.
