Steroid Testing Officer Responds to Ryan Braun’s Sabotage Allegation

Dino Laurenzi, Jr., the drug testing officer who collected the urine sample that resulted in a positive steroid test result for Ryan Braun, has responded to allegations that he sabotaged the doping sample. Ryan Braun Suggests His Sample Was Sabotaged with Steroids

Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun has impugned the character of drug testing officer Dino Laurenzi in order to protect himself from being tainted by a positive steroid test result. Ryan Braun Escapes Steroid Suspension on Technicality

Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun promised that there would be “highly unusual circumstances” that would explain his positive steroid test. He had tested positive for an elevated testosterone-epitestosterone (T:E) ratio in October 2011. An elevated T:E ratio is a putative indicator of exogenous testosterone use. Unfortunately, we may never hear about those “highly unusual circumstances” now that Braun has escaped the 50-game steroid suspension on a technicality. Independent arbitrator Shyam Das ruled in his favor when he side with the MLB players’ union and upheld Braun’s appeal. [Read more…]

Chris Brown Accuses Wrestler CM Punk of Using Steroids

Chris Brown accused World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heavyweight champion CM Punk of using anabolic steroids and suffering from steroid-induced impotence on Twitter last weekend.  “CM Punk” is the wrestling stage name used by Phillip Jack Brooks. The steroid accusation was made in response to Punk’s criticism of Brown for his brutal physical assault of Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards. Chris Brown became the poster boy for domestic violence after he sent his then-girlfriend Rihanna to the hospital with multiple contusions, a bloody lip and nose and a black eye. [Read more…]

USADA Continues to Waste Taxpayer Money on Lance Armstrong Witch-Hunt

Federal prosecutors have ended the criminal investigation of seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong. The investigation examined evidence that Armstrong’s U.S. Postal Service pro cycling team used anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs during the time it received government sponsorship. Jose Canseco Plays Baseball in Mexico Without Steroids

Jose Canseco, the former Major League Baseball Player who exposed steroid use in baseball with his autobiographical book “Juiced”, has been invited to try out for the “Tigres de Quintana Roo” of Cancun. The Quintana Roo Tigers are the defending champions of the Mexican Baseball League. The League is the only Minor League Baseball sanctioned triple-A league outside of the United States. Steroid Exemptions for Testosterone Replacement Therapy Rare in MMA

Several high-profile fighters in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) have publicly acknowledged their use of anabolic steroids as part of a doctor-prescribed and medically-supervised testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Keith Kizer, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), is concerned that this has created the perception that Nevada indiscriminately grants steroid exemptions that allow MMA fighters to use testosterone. Kirk Radomski Selling Supplements Instead of Steroids

Kirk Radomski has gone from selling anabolic steroids and human growth hormone to selling legal dietary supplements. Radomski is the infamous steroid dealer who named 3o current and former Major League Baseball players among his steroid-using clients after being busted by federal agents in December 2005. Now instead of offering products with names like Equipoise, Winstrol and Jintropin, Radomski is peddling products with names like “Mass Arrival X-Treme” and “High Heat”. [Read more…]

Canadian Football Player Busted for Steroids Gets Second Chance

Football player Jordan Matechuk has received a second chance to play professional football. The Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Matechuk to a contract this month. Matechuk, acting on the advice of his agent Fred Weinrauch, had sent a letter of apology and contrition to all the teams in the CFL after he was released from jail. He expressed his shame at being arrested for steroids. The Blue Bombers were the only CFL team to express interest in him. [Read more…]
