British shot-putter Carl Fletcher was suspended from competition for four years by the United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD) after being convicted of trafficking anabolic steroids. Fletcher pleaded guilty to supplying 16 different types of performance-enhancing drugs including human growth hormone (hGH) and the anabolic steroids testosterone and Trenbolone. Spanish athletes have sharply criticized former tennis champion Yannick Noah over an editorial he wrote for the French newspaper Le Monde. In “La Potion Magique”, Noah suggested that the incredible sporting success of Spain in recent years was due to their unfettered use of “the magic potion”. The magic potion was meant to refer to anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. A pharmacist in Australia has been suspended after dispensing large quantities of anabolic steroids according to a local doctor’s orders. Simon Booy, a pharmacist employed at a Mermaid Beach medical center, dispensed 309 Sustanon, 168 Deca Durabolin 50, 54 Primoteston Depot and 20 Reandron 1000 ampoules to a single client over a 14-month period. Floyd Landis Convicted in Hacking Incident Related to Steroid Case
Floyd Landis has been convicted of receiving steroid-testing documents that were illegally obtained from a French laboratory accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Chatenay-Malabry laboratory was responsible for testing Landis’ urine and blood samples for the presence of anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) during the 2006 Tour de France.
