J.C. Romero Still Guilty of Steroid Offense Even Though He Thinks He’s Vindicated

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher J.C. Romero has claimed victory in a lawsuit following an undisclosed cash settlement with the manufacturers and distributors of Ergopharm 6-OXO Extreme. Romero tested positive for the use of anabolic steroids under the Major League Baseball (MLB) Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program on August 26, 2008. Owners of €40 Million Steroid Empire to be Extradited to United States

Alleged steroid kingpin Mihael Karner was arrested by Austria’s counter-terrorism special operations tactical unit on December 27, 2011. He has been accused of operating a  €40 million steroid empire out of Europe and laundering the proceeds through various shell companies, luxury homes and yachts.

Some Steroid-Using Baseball Players Were Simply the Best According to Barry Larkin

Major League Baseball player Barry Larkin, a twelve-time All-Star shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds, was easily elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame this week. Baseball writers once again debated the issue of electing admitted or suspected steroid users to the Hall when casting their votes. Larkin couldn’t even enjoy the honor of joining the Hall of Fame without being hounded for his opinion on anabolic steroids. “Extreme Makeover” Doctor Fined for Prescribing Steroids and hGH

A cosmetic surgeon who was a regular participant in the Australian version of the reality television series “Extreme Makeover” was fined $15,000 for illegally prescribing anabolic steroids (testosterone) and human growth hormone (hGH). The New South Wales Medical Tribunal found Dr. Michael Zacharia guilty of professional misconduct when he promoted the controversial anti-aging treatment involving the performance-enhancing drugs. Cristiane Justino Venancio Santos, commonly known as Chris “Cyborg” Santos, has tested positive for anabolic steroids. The positive steroid test result occurred during Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego on December 17, 2011. Steroids and Bodybuilding Blamed for Heroin Overdose Death

The parents of competitive bodybuilder Ian Karl Jens Barlow returned home one afternoon last September to discover their son unresponsive with a syringe sticking out of his left arm. Barlow had recently broken up with his girlfriend and moved into his parents’ house. Now he was dead. Barlow had overdosed on heroin.

A medical examination by North Hampshire coroner Andrew Bradley determined that the death was accidental. A heroin overdose may have been the proximate cause of Barlow’s death but his parents want to blame bodybuilding and anabolic steroids as responsible for leading their son to his tragic fate.
