Two Steroid Users Make List of Most Hated Seattle Sports Figures

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper recently compiled a list of the most hated Seattle sports figures. Given the national obsession with anabolic steroids in sports, it probably comes as know surprise that two steroid users made the list. Of course, steroid use itself wasn’t the primary reason that the athletes made the list. But it obviously didn’t help.

Man Busted for Selling Steroids on Internet Classifieds Website

British Rules on Steroids in Sport Better Than the Rest of the World

The spectre of British superiority has emerged as the British Olympic Association attempts to justify its violation of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules. The WADA code specifies that penalties for the use of anabolic steroids and peformance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) should be uniform. “Juiced” Ghostwriter Ridicules Jose Canseco for Steroid Use

Jose Canseco has fallen on difficult times. The former Major League Baseball player has become one of the most despised individuals in baseball’s “steroid era”. Canseco emerged as an unsympathetic character after he mentioned specific players as steroid users in his 2005 autobiographical book, “Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant ‘Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big”. Steroid Addiction Led to Corruption Says Former Cop

A former detective with the West Chester Police Department failed to convince a judge that his corruption was the result of an addiction to anabolic steroids. David Busemeyer was sentenced to six months in jail for tipping of a drug dealer to the identity of an undercover informant. Steroid Testers Will Try to Catch Cheaters for Eight Years

It is no longer good enough to collect a urine and/or blood sample from an athlete and test it for banned anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). The World Anti-Doping Agency guidelines now require that an athlete’s urine and blood can be stored for many years while anti-doping researchers seek new methods of uncovering covert steroid use. MMA Fighter Must Believe “Steroids Are Bad” In Order to Fight in California

Josh “The Babyface Assassin” Barnett, a former UFC and Pride heavyweight champion, was granted a conditional license to fight again by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). Barnett had tested positive for metabolites of the anabolic steroid commonly known as Masteron in June 2009.
