Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun tested positive for anabolic steroids when he failed a testosterone – epitestosterone ratio (T:E ratio) screen after a Brewers-Cardinals playoff game in October 2011. He was suspended for 50-games under the Major League Baseball’s steroid policy. Braun record a T:E ratio in excess of 20+.

Arbitrator Shyam Das overturned Braun’s suspension on February 23, 2012 presumably due to a violation MLB’s specimen collection protocol. A written explanation of Das’s surprising ruling was expected within thirty days as mandated by Major League Baseball’s labor contract. Admitted steroid user and Twitter superstar Jose Canseco has finally found a professional baseball team to play for this year. The Worcester Tornadoes signed the former all-star baseball player Jose Canseco to a single-season contract. The Worcester ball club is part of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball (Can-Am League). The retrial of Roger Clemens officially starts on Monday. Many people feel that the government’s pursuit of the Major League Baseball pitcher is nothing more than a steroid witch-hunt and a colossal waste of taxpayer money. After the first mistrial, United States District Judge Reggie Walton suggested that government counsel may want to reconsider retrying Clemens. Many of the jurors in the first trial apparently shared the sentiment that the trial was a waste of money.
