Beware Grown Men Who Outgrow Their Clothes Especially If They Use Steroids

A man accused of murdering his ex-wife outgrew his clothes, presumably with the help of anabolic steroids, in the months preceding the murder according to Virginia State Police. Former Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Agee was driving his marked police vehicle when he confronted Jennifer Agee in a parking lot in Roanoke. Jonathan Agee then fatally shot her with an assault rifle from his police cruiser. Agee wounded  state police sergeant Matthew Brannock during a gunfight following a high-speed pursuit by state troopers.

The Virginia State Police obtained a search warrant for Agee’s house and discovered two vials of anabolics steroids along with syringes located inside a gun vault. Police also report that the steroid-containing vault was located right next to Agee’s weightlifting equipment. One vial was labeled TC-300 and contained testosterone cypionate.

Agee was suspected of using anabolic steroids by police. Special Agent Stephen Oliver stated that Agee “grew to the point of having to get all new uniforms” according to the search warrant. Oliver told reporters that Agee had “gotten much bigger” in the weeks leading up to the violence.

The police statements and media coverage suggest that anabolic steroids may have played a role in the incident citing the alleged steroid side effect popularly called “roid rage”.

Agee was indicted by two separate grand juries on multiple charges including first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of murder, attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of attempted murder, unauthorized use of a Franklin County police vehicle and eluding police.
